SEPTEMBER 11TH
Eleven years has passed since the horror of September 11th, 2001. Like that Tuesday, it was crisp and clear this morning and chills ran down my spine as I remember the events of that day.
Although millions of words have been written, there never seems to be enough said.
We remember those we lost and mourn the world that has changed forever. The sadness that we still feel to this day will never leave us and never should. Our lives were changed and we had no choice.
We felt some relief and some vindication when the people responsible were brought to justice but yet it can never totally heal our wounds.
While those families will try and carry on with a huge whole in their hearts and souls, the nation will mourn their passing with respect and dignity. It still won’t bring them back. We still feel their pain and pray that time will make them whole again.
Tragedies like this rarely allow it.
The people that came to help and to do the work no one could ever imagine ever being necessary are now the ones who are suffering. Their pain is quiet and we all hope that they won’t be forgotten either.
This is the time we again come together and mourn the loss of so many and try and help those that are still in need. Our memories of that fateful day should never fade.
